DIVE SITES

Following are a few samples of the dives that you may be doing with us.

VARADERO

Barco Hundido :  A 132 foot wreck sunk in 1940 at a depth of 33 Feet.  It is totally encrusted with coral and plenty of marine life.  The Divemaster will hand feed a couple of huge green moray eels for your enjoyment.  The normal visibility here is in the 70’- 80’+ range

Playa Coral: This is a very attractive reef near shore with a maximum depth of 66 feet.  Here you will find more than 30 coral species, some of them with a remarkable development topping the surface.  This reef forms channels with passages and caves loaded with plenty of marine life.  Here again, normal visibility is in the 70’ to 80’ + range.

La Cueva de Saturno:  this is a “cenote” cave flooded by fresh and salt water.  At its chapel like or cathedral entrance, you can see two 66 feet deep galleries with extraordinarily transparent water.  It feels like you’re swimming in the air!  There are also lots of secondary structures  with peculiar stalactites and stalagmites as well as unique blind fish and shrimp residents.

PLAYA GIRON (BAY OF PIGS)

Punta Perdiz:  This is a world class shore wall dive.  You will swim/snorkel over colorful patch reefs for about 10 minutes and then you will find a spectacular wall starting at a depth of 50 feet.  We will limit this dive to 110 feet for safety reasons, but you will be amazed at the coral formations and the huge elephant ear sponges that you will clearly see in 100’+ visibility.
